Greetings from the River Through Atlanta guide service team! We hope everyone has had a great summer and we look forward to seeing you this Fall trout season. As the weather  cools off and as our days get shorter we will begin to catch more and better quality browns during this Autumn spawning ritual. For those who want to strip streamers there is nothing more exhilarating then the jolt of a violent strike of a territorial brown which we term the “FALL-BROWN-BLITZ”! We will also experience some great nymph fishing with larger more gaudy fly patterns dropped under indicators near gravel bars where browns are commonly staged this time of year. The blue-winged-olive mayflies will be consistently hatching in the afternoons and early evenings triggering some great dry fly opportunities so be sure to  pack your favorite light weight  “pet fly rod” 2 to 4weight fly rods are ideal if it’s not too windy.

Waterfowl season is fast approaching so please contact us as soon as possible to reserve a local guided duck hunt as we are filling our calendars. We have some really nice private wetlands conveniently located in four different counties along the Chattahoochee River from Hall county downstream to Douglas county. We shoot mostly the “GA trifecta” woodies, mallards and geese but we also harvest pintail, gadwall, green winged teal, wingeon, black ducks too name a few. This is a great hunt for entertaining customers, Family members or friends who want to stay close to home. For the hunter who does not mind some short travel time (two hours from Atlanta) north east Alabama may be an option if you want to hunt a greater variety of waterfowl. The Tennessee River in Alabama boasts 16species of ducks including some trophy birds such as canvasbacks, red heads and goldeneyes to name a few. The Alabama waterfowl season is later this year from December-5th 2015 through January-31st which is always an advantage for hunters with cooler winter weather up north forcing birds to migrate south to lake Pickwick and Guntersville.
